Chief Executive Officer
A founding partner in the RedRay vision, Chris is the true embodiment of entrepreneurial spirit. His strategic know how and local knowledge allows him to create opportunities and solutions that benefit both the local market and RedRay partners.
Prior to RedRay, Chris has held a number of positions focusing on Sales, Business Development and emerging risks within Asia Pacific, Europe and the USA.
Chris moved to Singapore in 2013. Prior to founding RedRay, Chris was responsible for regional oversight of all placement activity for Willis and head of market development regionally for Lloyd’s, the world’s largest Insurance market.
Head of Property and Energy
Frank is responsible for the RedRay Property and Energy portfolio, including management of all risks and business development opportunities. He brings with him considerable expertise and 25 years’ underwriting experience.
He started his career with a UK composite insurer, Guardian Royal Exchange, and later joined AIG. During his 10 years with AIG, Frank was responsible for a USD80 million North American book and had an underwriting authority of USD166 million over all classes of Downstream Energy, Power and Industry.
Frank’s journey continued with Arch Europe as an Onshore Energy underwriter tasked with turning around a distressed power portfolio. He was then headhunted to set up a Property and Energy portfolio for Amlin in Singapore in 2014. Over the past three years despite challenging conditions, being a new entrant to a saturated market, and with limited capacity, he punched above his weight to become a market name in Asia, and has achieved underwriting results that significantly outperform his peers.
Head of Casualty
Joseph’s 20 years’ experience spans all core functions of the industry. Joseph’s depth of experience matches its breadth; gathered with highly rated international insurers, reinsurers and intermediaries and encompassed Casualty underwriting in both direct insurance and reinsurance capacities with an Asia Pacific scope.
This included global risk advisory/client advocacy, program placement and specialist lines broking with global brokers and claims management and loss adjusting handling claims for Property, Casualty, Financial Lines, Contractor’s All Risks, Boiler and Machinery, Marine and Accident & Health.
During his time in Casualty underwriting, Joseph developed a track record of achieving consistent underwriting profitability whether within a start-up portfolio or a large established portfolio.
Joseph holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of London and is a lecturer at the Singapore College of Insurance.
Lua Too Swee
Head of Credit and Surety
Lua has extensive experience in credit evaluation and excellent knowledge of corporate loans, trade and structured trade finance garnered from more than 20 years as Head of Credit with global banks based in Singapore. He left the banking industry in 2008 and joined the insurance industry to head a local insurer which specializes in trade credit insurance and surety bonds. His last position was in charge of trade finance for Qatar Reinsurance’s Singapore Branch.
Lua is one of the few local Singaporeans that have extensive banking experience on the one hand and insurance expertise on trade and credit insurance on the other hand. He brings to RedRay years of experience to render good and effective underwriting decisions and to ride on the opportunities offered by Singapore as the major trade finance hub of Asia.
