Frank has over 25 years’ insurance underwriting experience in the International Property and Energy sector, including running a market leading Asia Pacific referral portfolio.
Lua is responsible for RedRay’s Credit and Surety referral business, including management of this highly successful portfolio and future business development opportunities.
With 15 years of underwriting experience under his belt, Jimmy is an integral part of the Property & Energy team.
With almost two decades of experience in a variety of senior positions across London and Singapore, Tim leads RedRay's Structured Credit & Political Risk division.
Karen is a seasoned credit analyst with over 15 years of experience across banking, insurance and investment management in both Singapore and Hong Kong.
Kamal is a seasoned industry professional with over 18 years experience in the Healthcare and Liability space within Financial Lines in Australia and Asia.
Faruq is a highly experienced London market insurance leader in the field of Energy (Mining, Power, Oil & Gas) and Heavy Industries (Metals, Paper, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals) underwriting.
Christopher Rummery
Chief Executive Officer
A founding partner in the RedRay vision, Chris is the true embodiment of entrepreneurial spirit. His strategic know how and local knowledge allows him to create opportunities and solutions that benefit both the local market and RedRay partners.
Prior to RedRay, Chris has held a number of positions focusing on Sales, Business Development and emerging risks within Asia Pacific, Europe and the USA.
Chris moved to Singapore in 2013. Prior to founding RedRay, Chris was responsible for regional oversight of all placement activity for Willis and head of market development regionally for Lloyd’s, the world’s largest Insurance market.

Frank Howell
Head of Property and Energy
Frank is responsible for the RedRay Property and Energy portfolio, including management of all risks and business development opportunities. He brings with him considerable expertise and 25 years’ underwriting experience.
He started his career with a UK composite insurer, Guardian Royal Exchange, and later joined AIG. During his 10 years with AIG, Frank was responsible for a USD80 million North American book and had an underwriting authority of USD166 million over all classes of Downstream Energy, Power and Industry.
Frank’s journey continued with Arch Europe as an Onshore Energy underwriter tasked with turning around a distressed power portfolio. He was then headhunted to set up a Property and Energy portfolio for Amlin in Singapore in 2014. Over the past three years despite challenging conditions, being a new entrant to a saturated market, and with limited capacity, he punched above his weight to become a market name in Asia, and has achieved underwriting results that significantly outperform his peers.

Lua Too Swee
Head of Credit and Surety
Lua has extensive experience in credit evaluation and excellent knowledge of corporate loans, trade and structured trade finance garnered from more than 20 years as Head of Credit with global banks based in Singapore. He left the banking industry in 2008 and joined the insurance industry to head a local insurer which specializes in trade credit insurance and surety bonds. His last position was in charge of trade finance for Qatar Reinsurance's Singapore Branch.
Lua is one of the few local Singaporeans that have extensive banking experience on the one hand and insurance expertise on trade and credit insurance on the other hand. He brings to RedRay years of experience to render good and effective underwriting decisions and to ride on the opportunities offered by Singapore as the major trade finance hub of Asia.

Jimmy Huang
Specialist Consultant – Property and Energy
Jimmy started his career in 2007 as a Property and Construction Underwriting Trainee with XL Catlin Syndicate 2003 (formerly known as Catlin Syndicate 2003) in Lloyd’s Singapore. He furthered his career with Chubb Insurance (formerly known as ACE Insurance) developing the wholesale distribution channel for its Property and Technical lines for the Asia (Ex-Japan) region.
In 2013, Jimmy returned to Lloyd’s Singapore as a full-fledged Underwriter with MS Amlin Asia Pacific (formerly Amlin Singapore) for Energy & Industry. In 2017, he joined RedRay Asia, where he assisted the Head of Property & Energy in setting up a profitable portfolio under Great Eastern General Insurance’s (GEGI) paper. He later proceeded to work with GEGI, implementing internal projects for their Digital Transformation ambitions. Now back in RedRay Asia with an amalgamation of new ideas, he wants to support the Organisation’s forward-thinking ambitions in evolving beyond the Traditional Insurance business models.
Jimmy holds a Bachelor of Business (Business Administration) with Distinction from RMIT University and a Diploma in Insurance from CII. He is also SAFe® Agilist certified and is trained in cross-team project management at an Enterprise level.

Tim Warren
Head of Structured Credit & Political Risk
Tim is the founder and head of the RedRay group’s Structured Credit & Political Risk division, which analyses and provides recommendations on innovative structured credit and political risk insurance solutions for financial institution and corporate policyholders to a panel of global Insurers, with a special focus on sustainable capital flows into and within Asia Pacific.
Tim spent approximately 15 years at Zurich Insurance in a variety of roles across London and Singapore, including as the Head of Credit Lines (Trade Credit, Structured Credit, Political Risk and Surety) and Deputy Head of Specialties (Credit Lines, Financial Lines, Marine, Accident & Health) for the Asia Pacific region. As head of one of the market leading credit and political risk Insurers in the region managing underwriters in Singapore, Australia, Japan, China and Hong Kong he has been at the epicentre of the significant expansion of the Asia Pacific credit and political risk market since 2009. He was the highest authority holder for credit specialty products the Zurich Group offered in Asia Pacific and has a track record of maintaining strong profitability in the region for over 10 years, possessing a high level of technical expertise across the full range of products.
Tim is British-Eurasian Singapore Permanent Resident and Chartered Insurance Practitioner (ACII). He holds an Economics degree (BSc) from the University of Birmingham (UK) and began his underwriting career in the Lloyd’s of London marine market with Ace Global Markets (now Chubb).

Karen Hsieh
Specialist Consultant – Structured Credit & Political Risk
Karen provides research and consultancy support to the RedRay group’s Structured Credit & Political Risk division, including ensuring a high degree of sophistication in the analysis process and that early warning signs are identified.
Karen is a seasoned credit analyst with 15 years experience across banking, insurance and investment management in both Singapore and Hong Kong. During her career, which has included roles at major financial institutions such as ING, Westpac and Zurich Insurance, Karen has built unique multisector experience across a variety of asset classes from trade to structured asset and subscription financing.
Karen is an American-Taiwanese Singapore Permanent Resident and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). She holds both a bachelors and masters degree in Engineering from Northwestern University (USA) and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (USA). She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Kamal Hamzah
Head of Healthcare & Liability
Kamal is a seasoned industry professional with over 18 years experience in the Healthcare and Liability space within Financial Lines in Australia and Asia.
Previously from Chubb, he held the dual role of APAC Head for Medical Malpractice and Asia Head of Professional Indemnity with USD 50M GWP under management.
A proven business builder, he was responsible for delivering a ground up book of Medical Malpractice Insurance business regionally for Chubb in 2015 to the market leader it is today. He was also instrumental in repositioning the SME class of healthcare business into the insuretech arenas of Malaysia and Singapore via digital platform strategies to scale up Chubb’s medical indemnity product suite to both clients and producers.
Kamal joined RedRay in July 2023 as the Head of the newly formed Healthcare and Liability unit.

Faruquz Zaman

Faruq has over 25 years’ experience in the London insurance market. After graduating as a Civil Engineer and completing his masters in Insurance and Risk Management, his career started as a broker with Marsh, followed by Aon and Willis. He then moved to underwriting by joining AIG Global Energy. Generating profitable results across multiple Energy and Industrial Property portfolio lines.
After many successful years he joined Zurich attaining the positions of Global Head of Mining and Head of Natural Resources, as well as periods of heading the Power and Oil & Gas portfolios in London. Having successfully led these propositions profitably for over a decade, he is regarded as a global leader in his field amongst his peers.

Michael Hill
Head of Property and Energy
Originally from South Africa, Mike moved to London in 2005 after graduating with a B.Comm (Finance & Business Management). Mike started his career at WTW where he spent 12 years in various roles, leading to property broking on large global property accounts in the UK and South Africa. Mike joined Marsh in 2017 working in their esteemed, Risk Management Portfolio as Account Director and then a placing broker within Bowring Marsh International Property.
Mike started his underwriting career at Zurich in 2022 specialising in Natural Resources risks which includes Metals, Mining and Heavy Industry accounts. Mike is passionate about delivering solutions for customers, broker partners and ensuring growth for our stakeholders in a long-term sustainable way.
